Green Team building at Lush Cosmetics will create EUROPE’S FIRST STRAW COLD ROOM

Caring about the environment is a top priority at LUSH Cosmetics. They have a dedicated team who work hard to reduce waste, carbon, energy and water consumption, as well as people throughout the factory and shops working hard to implement this.lush straw

Not content with all of this, from 6th - 15th February 2012, Lush staff themselves will be building the first industrial straw bale cold room used in Europe! Once complete, the cold room will be used to store and cool fresh creams, shower gels and other skincare products, shortly before they are filled and packed to go to their stores.

CONSUMERS SET FOR SOLAR BONANZA AS GOVERNMENT LOSES RIGHT TO APPEAL OVER FEED-IN-TARIFFS
Homeowners have been given a short-term window of opportunity to enjoy a solar power “gold rush”.
A Court of Appeal ruling today means that any Solar PV installations installed, commissioned and registered between December 12 last year and March 3 this year will receive the higher feed-in-tariff rate of 43.3p for the next 25 years.
Customers who register on or after March 3 will qualify for the higher rate until April 1 when it will drop to 21p.

The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and the British Astronomical Association’s Campaign for Dark Skies (CfDS) are asking people to take part in the 2012 Star Count Week between Friday 20 January and Friday 27 January.

Why has this taken so long?

Slaughterhouses could be forced to fit CCTV to prevent animal abuse, this is music to my ears.Defra ministers are considering making CCTV compulsory in slaughterhouses in England, Scotland and Wales to help enforce laws against animal cruelty. Let's hope it is more than just a consideration!
