 In the light of the horsemeat scandal a timely opening for a new project in London ‘Midtown Community Kitchen' who have set up a new pop-up shop and will sell only localy grown produce, biked into town from their suppliers. I have a feeling this idea could take off!

Meerkats are the nation’s sweetheart according to a brand new survey.

meerkats at trotters world  The poll, carried out by BIAZA, the professional body representing British and Irish zoos and aquariums, has revealed the most commonly adopted animals by zoo visitors in 2012.

 The survey compared the top three adopted animals from 50 BIAZA zoos across the UK and Ireland.

Horsemeat in beefburgers - pork in halal food, it just gets worse.

More than ever before should we be thinking about buying only organic meat? How big do the letters need to be. Pork in halal food, horse meat in beefbufgers, is this the final straw? Meat has had such a bad press over the last 10 years, is it any wonder vegetarianism is on the rise. For me it's a no brainer, if I wasn't a vegetarian I couldn't consder eating anything but organic meat, preferably purchased from the farm where the animal was reared.
