Carbon Gold gets the seal of approval from the Soil Association

Carbon Gold’s Soil Association approved GroChar is a concentrated biochar based soil improver. Biochar is a form of porous charcoal produced by heating woody plant matter using a clean technology. When mixed with the soil it acts as a host to a multitude of beneficial micro organisms which naturally boost soil health and fertility. The biochar is enhanced with mycorrhizal fungi, seaweed and wormcast. This combination of ingredients encourages healthy living soil and fertility.

You don’t need much and once it’s applied it carries on doing its good work for years to come so you don’t need repeat applications. Once applied it locks in carbon and acts as a magnet to attract more carbon and CO2 from the atmosphere to create healthy, living garden soil – helping you to reduce your personal carbon footprint. It also helps cut nitrogen loss from the soil, further reducing the need for added fertiliser.

GroChar is versatile and can be used for the following:

-              Added to garden soil by sprinkling around growing plants and lightly raking it in
-              Improving potting composts by mixing it in with before planting seedlings
-              Sprinkle half a tea spoon in each planting location for vegetables and bedding plants
-              Blend GroChar with you compost heap by sprinkling handfuls on to the surface of layers as they build up – this will reduce acidity and create more nutritious end product
-              For a once in a lifetime treatment add GroChar to the soil at a rate of 1kilo per square metre. This will create an overall concentration equivalent of ten tonnes per hectare
GroChar is available UK wide and online on sites including Harrod Horticultural and greenfingers.com for a full list visit
